Description

A small oak wreath mounted on plexiglass. The bronze leaves, skillfully hand-cut one by one, are tied together to create a small yet precious decorative piece, connecting us to the profound symbolism of this ancient tree.

The oak was the sacred tree of Zeus, and its acorn served as a fertility talisman. According to mythology, Balanis or Valanos was the Nymph of the oak tree and the daughter of Oxylos, the spirit of the forest.

The leaves and acorns of the tree were fashioned into wreaths for Macedonian kings, most notably the wreath of King Philip II of Macedon, discovered in the royal tomb of Aigai. A timeless symbol of power and authority.
