A hand-embroidered quilt made of cotton fabric, featuring a variation on a well-known folk motif. The bride with her guardians, heraldic symbols, and horsemen are beautifully depicted in the intricate design.
At the edge of the quilt, the embroidered words of a traditional Thracian wedding song read:
“…as many embellishments as your dress has, my bride, may your years be as plentiful, and your blessings as abundant…”.
Embroidered with remarkable craftsmanship by the women of M. Derio in the Evros region.
