Velochori

A handmade votive offering crafted from thick sheet metal.

Hand-pierced, fire-treated, and adorned with replica coins and textile remnants in red, the color of life and love.

This unique decorative object, the votive, represents a gesture of supplication and gratitude, rooted in ancient religious rituals. It embodies devotion, serves as a reminder of a donor’s specific need, or expresses thankfulness for an answered prayer.

The “vrakoforos” (traditional trousered figure) votive is also hand-pierced from sheet metal. It is a replica of a unique votive depicting a vrakoforos.
