Table runner or wall hanging. Unique Sarakatsani woven piece from the 1940s-50s. This rare woolen textile, in its natural ecru color, has a smooth texture that provides a distinctive tactile experience while inspiring admiration for the exceptional weaving artistry of the Sarakatsani women of Thrace. Despite their nomadic lifestyle, they passed down masterpieces of weaving and embroidery, primarily through their traditional garments.<\/p>\n

The decorative elements consist of hand-stitched black and red silk fabrics, meticulously embroidered stitch by stitch by the women of the mountainous region of Xanthi.<\/p>\n
